Well Ava and I just returned from a 2 week trip to Utah/Idaho. We had a great time but are happy to be home and Rob is happy to have his girls back. We were able to see all my sisters, my brother Caleb (or Bee-bup as Ava calls him) and my parents and grandparents. After she adjusted, Ava loved all the attention and had a lot of fun playing with her cousins. I was able to watch my niece Alexis play in some volleyball tournaments which was exciting for me and took me back a little to my high school volleyball days. I can't believe how good Alexis is, especially for a freshman.
Whenever I go to my mom's I try to bring a project that will help me glean some new knowledge from her. She's extremely talented in a lot of ways but I was too dumb when I lived at home to recognize the value of having her teach me some of those things. So now I get to learn in bits and pieces whenever I can make it home. Here is a picture of our project from this trip:

I got this cute pattern for baby booties online and my mom and I went crazy. I don't have a picture of the darling pink ones she made because at the time of my departure she had only completed the left one......due to having to constantly assist me (and by "assist me" I mean chase my daughter around to keep her from destroying things) in the creation of the above. I was pretty pleased with the result and for any of you who have recently had or are soon to have a baby girl, please act surprised when a pair of these shows up on your doorstep!
All in all the trip home was a success. I even got to take Ava's seat on the plane for the ride home (wahoo!) and denied her a nap all day long so she slept most of the way to Dallas (double wahoo!). It's good to be back.
