Rob turned 35

Happy birthday to the best daddy and husband.  We had a great day celebrating Rob's birthday.  The girls could hardly stand waiting for him to wake up so they could give him their presents.
Making daddy's gift - decorated golf balls.

Dad being a good sport wearing the bday hat the girls picked out - bright and early in the morning.

Opening his presents

Can you tell he loves these artistic golf balls?

Getting the cake ready

Mentally preparing for the task ahead - that's a lot of candles

Easy peasy.  Got them all on the first try

Idaho

After the cabin Rob headed home to go back to work and the girls and I headed to my parents house for a few days.  We got to spend lots of time with G.G. and Grandpa while we were there as well.  The girls loved being able to run around and roam free since my parents live in the country and they couldn't get enough of Dip the three-legged cat.  My dad is also leasing some of his land to a friend who is raising goats which the girls thought was fabulous.  They probably fed them at least 3 times a day and were amazed at all the things they'd eat.  After picking peas from G.G.'s garden they saved the shells to feed to the goats.  After we got home, every time Charlotte eats peas in the pod she wants to save the shells for goats.  Sadly we can't find any around here. :(

Cabin cabin cabin cabin (chant it with me)

Summer gets good when its time to leave the Texas heat and head to the Roberts cabin.  And for Rob that means he gets to go with his law school buddies on their annual mancation hiking trip.  This year it was Mt. Rainier.  We drove again this year - 23 hours and the girls did great. We spent the first few days at Tara and Brad's until we headed to the cabin.  It was a great week filled with family, food, laughs and one giant sunburn for me (unfortunately no picture).
