In kids words

I should have pictures and fun things to share from the 5 day trip to NYC Rob and I just took without kids.  Didn't really take any pictures, probably because I've been there so much. We basically bummed around, saw old friends, hit a couple shows, and ate some good food.  We did tour the Tenement Museum which was great and I hit Chinatown and fed my face with my annual Rice to Riches overload as well.  Fun trip, we are home and good thing because I sure missed my kids.  Here's a funny I got from Ava tonight:

Ava came to me to show me a fire ant bite she had gotten on her foot.  I told her the only thing I could do was give her a wet paper towel to put on it.  I did and said I wasn't sure it was help. Here is what she told me.  "It is helping mom, a lot.  It is helping with the bad hurt.  The bad hurt is like a bad guy and the paper towel is like a good guy and the good guy is fighting the bad guy.  Thanks mom."   Lol love her.

Drumroll please.......................XX as in chromosomes

Yep, we are having a girl!  We had the big ultrasound this week and everything looks good and the tech was 100% on the gender (the baby was spread eagle after all, not very ladylike if you ask me).  The girls came with us and there is a huge flat screen on the wall to view the ultrasound.   When it started Charlotte asked what it was and Rob told her we were gonna see the baby in mommy's belly.  After about 5 seconds of watching (and probably having no clue what she was seeing), she says "I don't like this movie.  I want a different one."  The rest of us enjoyed it and Ava tried to pick out what parts of the baby she could see.  Here are a few of our favorite shots with some hints from the tech as to what you are viewing.

Kid Stats

Both girls had to have check-ups with their doctors this summer and in an attempt not to forget their stats I'm posting them on here.

Charlotte (2 1/2):
Height - 35 1/4" (the 44th percentile)
Weight - 30 lbs (the 69th percentile)

Ava (5):
Height - 3'11" (in the 99th percentile)
Weight - 53 lbs (the 94th percentile)

Ava also had to get three shots to be ready for kindergarten.  She was doing great until the doctor walked in with the shot tray and then she started to cry.  I held her in a bear hug while the doctor administered the shots and a nurse held her legs so she didn't kick.  Ava was super annoyed at the nurse afterward because she thought if she could have flailed her legs she could have gotten away and not had to get shots.
