Snow Day!!!

No we didn't move, we still live in Texas and this is the weather we woke up to this morning. Ava could hardly contain herself long enough to put on warm clothes to go out in it. Most of us that live in Texas don't own actual "snow clothes" so we do the best we can when we get blessed with this kind of weather. Thus, Ava's two pairs of pants, a jacket that's 2 sizes too small, rain boots and my hat and scarf. We also don't own sleds in this part of the country (well we don't anyway) but found (after experimentation) that the toys we use for the pool work pretty good in the snow as well. How appropriate!

Ava loved the snowman..........literally. See those smoochy lips!

Even baby Charlotte got in on the action

Ava's favorite snow activity "but mommy we don't eat yellow snow...............or red or green, just white."

Welcome Sweet Charlotte

Well technically today is her due date but we've already had her for two weeks. Charlotte Abbigale Vincent arrived on January 24th at 12:39 am. She came naturally after only 3 hours of labor. She was 7 lbs 5 oz, 20 1/8" or 19" (depends on who you ask) long and absolutely adorable. Mom had another "right out of the movies" labor and had there been any traffic on the freeway, she would have delivered in the car. As it was, we walked into labor and delivery just 29 minutes before she was in our arms. Ava is thrilled with Charlotte though still refers to her as Polka Dot. At the hospital Ava told me "Mom, Polka Dot is the best baby ever huh?" And she was very annoyed when she didn't get to take the baby home with her the first day. We have all spent the last two weeks adjusting to have a new member to our family and adjusting to the lack of sleep that comes with it. We've been blessed to have lots of help. Rob's parents came up right after she was born and Linda stayed for a few days to help out. And then I was lucky enough to have my sister Mellonee here for most of last week. Grandma Kathee and Poppy get in this afternoon and we are excited to see them. Ava couldn't be happier about all these playmates coming to visit her. Charlotte is sleeping pretty well for being brand new and eating great. She is very mellow compared to her sister as a baby for which I am grateful. We feel so blessed to have two happy, healthy, beautiful girls!
